Valeria is an innovation consultant and leader for IXL Center Guatemala. She has more than four years of experience working in innovation strategies internally within a company, and as an external consultant. She worked implementing the innovation management system in 6 companies in Guatemala, El Salvador and Peru, and developing innovation and sales skills through workshop facilitation.
She has led large innovation programs for small and medium-sized enterprises, such as initiatives with Guatemala Government and the Inter-American Development Bank, supporting more than 60 companies in the manufacturing, tourism and technology industries in identifying opportunities for growth and implementing new projects.
She is the director of Innovation Megaprojects at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, where she designed the pensum, manage the program linking the academy and the companies in innovation, and is mentor of multiple teams. She has led open innovation projects for companies in food and consumer industries, telecommunications, real estate development and energy. She is a professor of entrepreneurship and innovation in 2 main universities in Guatemala.
Currently she is part of the support team for the government ministries and presidential cabinet of Guatemala regarding innovation for the development of government plans. Valeria holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala, and holds a Master’s Degree in Strategy and Innovation from the University of Wales in Italy.
